Session 1

What is this About?

In this first session you will be setting the scene and laying important foundations for your subsequent conversations. As the emphasis of this session is on preparing the ground, we recommend that it is run with Session 2, where you will hear stories of people directly affected by the issue of LGBT+ inclusion.

Specifically, in this session we outline the purpose of this Resource, namely to ensure that our churches and Christian communities are safe places for everyone, and in particular those who identify as LGBT+. This session is an integral part of the programme as it establishes our Ground Rules and culture. It is also an opportunity for people to familiarise themselves with the wider group.

Toolkit

  • Printouts of the Ground Rules (see below). Please ensure that each participant has a personal copy.

  • Projector or screen

    If you do not have a projector or screen available, we suggest providing printouts
